Rooted in Legacy
Lim Ket Kai built more than a business. He built a way of being — one where you look after the people around you and open doors instead of closing them. The Limketkai Foundation exists to make sure that way of living never stops.
"True wealth is measured not in what you keep, but in what you cultivate for the community."
The story of
Don & Doña Lim Ket Kai.
Lim Ket Kai planted the seed. He was the kind of person people don't forget — he looked after his employees, invested in his community, and genuinely believed that opportunity was something you grew and shared, not kept.
The foundation carries his name, and it carries his character too. Every program, every volunteer, and every act of service is a continuation of something real — a way of being that started with one family's commitment to the people of Cagayan de Oro.
His children nurtured the tree. His grandchildren will protect the shade. Today, the Limketkai Foundation continues the legacy of building community, giving generously, and protecting what matters.
A History of Purpose
Key moments in the foundation's journey — from one family's dream to a community-wide movement.
Planting the Seed
Don and Doña Lim Ket Kai arrive in Cagayan de Oro and plant the seed — not just of a livelihood, but of a lasting legacy for the community. Their early enterprises lay the groundwork for decades of growth and generosity.
Nurturing the Tree
His children nurtured the tree. As the family enterprises grow, so does their commitment to the people of Mindanao — sponsoring local students, funding neighborhood programs, and deepening the roots their father planted.
The Foundation Is Born
The Limketkai Foundation is formally established, channeling the family's philanthropic efforts into structured programs with measurable impact. Education and youth development become the first focus areas.
Branches Extend
DanceSport development, scholarship programs, and large-scale community outreach expand the foundation's reach across Cagayan de Oro and into the mountain communities of Bukidnon.
Protecting the Shade
His grandchildren will protect the shade. A Digital Hub and Community Library launching in August 2026, grassroots sports expansion across Misamis Oriental, and a projected 1,000+ youth ecosystem reach — the foundation continues the legacy of building community, giving generously, and protecting what matters.
